Accessibility on this website
What we do, and what we still lack.
This statement describes the accessibility features of this website and its known limits. It is not a claim of conformance with any standard or law.
What we built in
- Landmarks: header, navigation, one main area and footer on every page.
- A skip link, the first item you can reach with the keyboard, that jumps past the menu.
- One main heading per page and no skipped heading levels.
- The language of every page is declared.
- Links say where they go; links that open a new tab or a file say so in text.
- Every picture has alternative text, or is marked decorative.
- A visible keyboard focus on every interactive element.
- Menus, questions and answers and the billing switch work with the keyboard and without scripts.
- Form fields have visible labels, required fields say "required", and help text is linked to its field.
- Colours are checked against contrast ratios when they are saved; information is never given by colour alone.
- Buttons, menu items and form fields are at least 24 by 24 pixels (the site draws them at 44).
- The layout reflows on small screens and when text is enlarged; tables scroll inside a labelled, focusable area.
- Motion is switched off for visitors whose device asks for less motion; nothing plays by itself.
- A stronger contrast scheme is used when the device asks for more contrast.
- Tables have a caption and header cells.
- Videos load only when opened, with a transcript or a description.
- The navigation and the footer are the same on every page.
- A print style that does not depend on background colours.
Known limitations
No known limitations have been recorded. That does not mean there are none.
Reports, PDF files and the signed-in application are separate products; this statement covers the public website only.
How we check
We run automated accessibility checks on the pages when they are saved and published. Automated checks find only some problems.
